This oil painting was produced to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, City of London Committee, in 2019. The RNLI saves lives at sea, all round the UK coastline, often risking those of the volunteer crews. Tower Bridge Lifeboat Station, on the River Thames, is the busiest RNLI Station in the UK, operating along the tidal part of the river, up to Twickenham lock.

A stunning and dramatic piece, heavily textured and redolent of the drama facing the crew of the lifeboat, as it heads heads towards the stricken sailboat, on the horizon.
