A stunning moment, captured quite by chance, as this magnificent Thames Sailing Barge set off from Maldon on one of her last voyages of the season. She prepared to leave her mooring as I approached and I managed to follow her along the towpath before she sailed gracefully out of sight, her rust-red sails fully hoisted, silhouetted against the late afternoon sky.. A magnificent sight and one which made a superb oil painting, now reproduced as prints on paper and canvas.
